Hi! We love WBT here in Yuma too! I was signed up for the conference in Mesa, but since it was our first official day back to school I had to cancel. Bummer!
I will be able to attend the upcoming conference in October, and am bringing 8 teachers from my school. YaHoo!

WBT is fabulous to use in classes with ELLs. With our stringent guidelines here in AZ, WBT provides opportunities for explicit teaching of vocabulary with gestures and multiple chances to practice listening and speaking. This year one of my co-workers is implementing WBT for the first time and she is loving it!!!

I'm in the Tempe Elementary district and a few of my colleagues and I are using WBT for the first time this year. I stumbled across it accidentally at the end of last school year and got immediate results with my students. We've just finished one week of school, and the WBT techniques are phenomenal.

Sadly, none of us could make the Mesa seminar as it interfered with a district requirement. When is the October seminar? Where can I find that info? Nice to see other WBT folks in the area.

The October Seminar is Thursday, October 14. I was bummed about the August 2nd seminar as well...as I was conducting some professional development here in Yuma and I had to cancel out on WBT. I too was unable to attend the conference in August. It was already filled by the time I tried to register. I signed up for the one in October about a two weeks ago. Just wanted to give you the heads up to register asap!! It will be a great opportunity to learn from the best!!

I teach 4th in Yuma. I wonder if I can get professional leave to attend the conference in Mesa on the 14th of October? I guess I will be asking my principal on Tuesday. I hope there still is space!!!

I would love to attend but I'm sure 1) it's too late, 2) it's too expensive for me right now and 3) I wouldn't be able to get time off....

What school are you at? We could meet and I could walk you through the basics. I teach 1st at Desert View Academy, and just did a basics training for the K-3 teachers at my school. They are just beginning WBT this year.

The conference is FREE! Check into going to the January 2 conference in Phoenix. We will be driving up from Yuma. I will be glad to help in any way I can.
