Hi,
My Name is Adam. I am teaching English in Taiwan. I have used some WBT methods and enjoy it very much. I am teaching great kids.
I have a real problem teaching phonics though. I really don't like this part of the program. I have to teach it for two hours at a time. I think that is much too long.
And...What makes it even worse is all the exercises they have to write. I can't really assign it for homework because the kids don't have the skills to do it themselves yet and because they already have other homework assigned by the school. So, I'm basically having them copy the answers from the board for long periods of time-not something I like to do.
We do a lot of cheers and woos and I don't really have any behavior problems, but I would like to know other ways that I can make this class more Whole Brainish.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
