Hi to all Canadian teachers - welcome to the forum!!! If you are interested in learning more about Whole Brain Teaching perform a search on www.youtube.com! I'm in Kelowna, BC and would love to talk to any other teachers that are interested in or using WBT in the area!

Hello! I'm in Ontario and interested in learning more from practioners of PT/WBT here. If that's you, drop me a line and let me know how you integrated PT/WBT into your classrooms!

Thanks

You might be interested to know that on April 18th there will be a seminar in Newport, Vermont. I do not know if that is far from you or not.

I teach in Abbotsford BC. I just started whole brain teaching in my grade one class.
I watched the seminar in California.
What grade do you teach?

Hi Jag! Were you at the conference in Lancaster, CA? I met a great group from BC there recently. How is your class going? WBT makes everyday a new and rewarding experience! We are in parent teacher conferences right now, and it's so neat to hear parent comments about how these strategies carry into their homes. One parent said she was told by her son, "It's cool!" when she made a mistake at home. They really are excited about Speed Read and Speed Math, too!

We were there in Sept in Lancaster California. We observed in Chris R's class. I love the strategies.
We are working on level two the practice cards. I love the letters. If get a little crazy, my little munchkins will say "Class, class!"

Are you an interm for whole brain teaching. Chris mentioned there was one in BC.

Re: Hello all you Canadian Teachers!! 7 months, 2 weeks ago #8497

As you can see from Deb's post I am not perfectly correct in my use but to get you to the best source watch the webinar that is on the front of this forum, let me share we do it orally in first grade and then write one up on the board after lots of practice they can choose to copy our stretch their thinking and do their own during writers workshop,
Did that help. I am obviously not the one to ask

Hi to all!

I am actually just working on completing my first student teaching placement outside of Brandon, Manitoba and one of my goals for this placement was to solidify my classroom management strategies. I found the Whole Brain Teaching videos on YouTube today and it was my "ah-ha" moment! It was like a light bulb went on. I am definitely excited to try this out in my classroom

Hi,

It is possible. You just need to have your Superintendent invite or e-mail Chris and the team. Then, the team will come to you!

Looking forward to it! The closer to me the better!!!

I was just wondering how many interns there are in Canada? I'm specifically wondering about what sort of presence WBT has in Manitoba? I'd love to connect with some local people

Hi!

As far as I know there is only 1 intern in Canada and that is me. Unfortunately, I am in British Columbia. Are you interested in becoming an intern? I'm sure Coach B is always taking new applicants!

I actually do not know much about the intern program. Where would be the best place to find information about it?

Hi - I would e-mail Chris Biffle - click on Contact Info at the top left of this website. Chris usually sends out information when he is looking for new interns:)
