Where can I download the practice cards? My school year starts in June/July since I am year round and I would like to have it for then....thanks!

Do you mean the Class Rules and such? If so, under free downloads called Classroom Management Signs. If not, what are you talking about so I can try to help?

I thought that there "cards" ( showing miniature images of rules)that could be sent home with student so they could share with parents and review the rule that they were struggling with. Hope this makes more sense.I will check all the downloads again but I guess what I need are the classroom rules but in a jpg. format.Thanks.

Look in the ebook Teaching Challenging Students. Starting on page 40 are some miniture versions of the Rules. Maybe you could do some cutting and pasting. IDK. Hope this helps.

Not sure if these will help but I made them to use in place of a traditional card turning system. I have a pocket chart that I label with the students' names. Students that need to practice a rule will get a Please work on card for that rule, students that are doing a great job on a rule will get a good job card. I'm thinking I may make some for parents to sign and/or ones that say practice at recess for __ minutes

These are all for Avery 8471 business cards but can easily be printed on cardstock and cut.

Do you use the practice cards and the scoreboard at the same time? When do you decide to give a student a practice card and not a mark on the scoreboard?

Yes, scoreboard game continues and in the daily use of it you may need at incorporate the Practice Cards for a student (or two).

I will use the practice cards with students that just "don't get it". Let's say you have a student who tends to get out of their seat without asking first. Let's also assume that for the first 2-3 times you have reminded/"reviewed with" the class "Rule 3". This student still does not remember. Then I will assign a practice card to that student with a note stating that he needs to review and practice this rule as homework.

Does this make sense to you? Any other comments out there?

Can you tell me what age students this is used with? I would like to try it with my 6th graders.

I've used it as high as 5th grade. If you have a self contained 6th grade, I think it will work quite well.

I teach 3 classes of science/social studies. So, I could use three pocket charts. But keeping up with notes home might be impossible - especially for someone as scattered as me.

You could go clipboard style and keep three mini versions on clipboards. What is your e mail: I might be able to help you out with this.
