TOPIC: The rest of the day

The rest of the day 2 years, 9 months ago #1828

I am just learning about WBT and I am very excited to start using it in the fall. I want to communicate with some other Elementary teachers about what the entire day looks like. In other words, what role does WBT play outside of whole group instruction? For example, does it affect small groups (guided reading, etc.) independent reading, etc.? The videos are great to highlight the exciting aspects of class, but what about the everyday aspects?

Karma,
I used this last year and it works terrific in every aspect of everyday class. You will use rule five getting your whole classes attention quickly or when you need for one student or a small group to listen. Watch all the downloads here and on youtube along with reading the articles that is available. You won't be sorry! I'm thrilled sharing this information!LOL

Hi there!
WBT is used throughout your day. It is an integral part of your teaching and management. It is used small group...whole group....all day:)

The rules are to be rehearsed throughout the day. We suggest at the beginning of each day at after each recess. IT sets the tone for the day.

Class! Yes! and all the variations are used throughout the day to grab your students' attention. The scoreboard is the motivator that is used throughout the whole day to keep your students pumped up and going.

Teach! Okay! Breaks up your lectures into micro-lectures and has the students teaching their neighbors the new information while engaging the whole brain (they are saying it to their neighbor doing the motions hearing their neighbor say it to them and seeing their neighbor do the motions. You won't believe how much your students retain with this method of teaching.

I guess the correct response is WBT is used anytime the students are learning:)
