I was covering for a 4th grade teacher recently who left to coach Jr. High basketball. Prior to going into class we agreed that I would present Super Speed Math to his class. In my district a popular fact practice game is mandated called "Rocket Math." While it contains many of the same parts as Super Speed, it lacks the excitement and fun that motivates students to want to play. There were many complaints from students as I began exlaining the game since they thought, "here comes another fact practice game." By the end of round two they were nearly falling out of their seats with excitement. I can't wait to talk to the teacher next week to hear the feedback from his students. Just another case of Whole Brain Teaching having the students eating out of the palm of your hand!!

Wahooo!! Isn't that thrilling?? I have found here it Utah that sharing and demonstrating (I'm a specialist so I'm lucky to have the flexibility to do this) the SuperSpeed games is the most powerful 'in' to sharing WBT altogether. It usually gets teachers very interested in WBT and learning more about it, because the games themselves are so simple and ingenius!
