TOPIC: Class...yes

Class...yes 10 months, 3 weeks ago #6316

Hi everyone,
I just found out about whole brain a few weeks ago, and I have been reading everything I can find. I'm excited about using it next year in first grade. This may be a question that has been asked, so excuse me if it has.

I am from the south where yes ma'am and yes sir are very important. Has anyone ever used class...ma'aam instead of yes?

Thanks!
Katie

I am also from the south and I do use that version. I do not use it all of the time...I like to change my class yes to class ma'am and other versions just to keep it interesting:) That is the good thing about WBT, you can make your own!

You could also use the “Teach/OK” and change it to “Teach/Yes Ma’am”. I saw Chris Biffle use different variations of “Teach/Ok” at the Louisiana conference. If we were learning about “Mirror” He may explain it, through micro-lecturing, and then say “Mirror” and we say “Ok”. I would suggest that the response of the students, whether “yes” or “yes ma’am” be kept the same to decrease confusion. Your prompt is what can change because remember… it’s a LONG year!
