TOPIC: Kid Friendly Definitions

Kid Friendly Definitions 8 months, 2 weeks ago #8062

Hi Everyone! Yesterday when Biff was hanging out at our school district someone mentioned they got their kid friendly definitions from the Longman Basic Dictionary of American English. This is a great, simple dictionary published by Pearson Education. It also has lots of illustrations, including several pages in color. The kids love it.

Longman's has a user friendly site- www.ldoceonline.com/
You can find definitions, parts of speech, sample sentences, and other kid friendly info.
It is extremely handy when working on vocabulary, or creating your own power pix.

Check it out!

Thanks Deb!
I'm so happy to have this website!! I'm the one who mentioned Longman's Dictionary because I needed a friendly definition that would instill understanding when dealing with estimation following rounding:) And an abundance of many more definitions!!

This is an amazing resource!
