TOPIC: So much to do, so little time

So much to do, so little time 3 months, 4 weeks ago #9488

So this is, more than anything, a bit of a "vent". I have been passionate about WBT since the day I found it, nearly a year ago. However, with a 16 month old at home and working in a school that is in sanctions, going towards a Dual Language program next year, and just starting a new math program (Bridges) as well as being in a new grade level, I am SO overwhelmed with a lack of time, I haven't even been on the WBT site in months.

I try to spread the word when I can as well as try to ask for funding for a conference in the area, all to no avail. Oh well, I will keep trying.

The other thing that I am finding as I teach 3rd (as opposed to kinder) is we switch classes so much it's a challenge to use WBT, the socreboard, improver wall, etc. in the different classes, and my homeroom doesn't get as much of it as I'd like. I did just add my reading class to my super improver wall. I am working on adding stars to the students' names so I can improve myself. Getting better...

Okay...guess that's about it.

Megan, we have not heard from you. Your plate sounds full. I would take deep breaths and remember it is your classroom. If I were changing groups I would create a challenge scoreboard. Then have my mind soccer party for only the two groups with high scores. Just a thought. If you have time keep posting, we're here to help.

I hear you!!!! Just hang in there, the end is near My groups switch classes too. Annette, great ideas.

I have the same SuperImp wall for all 5 classes. I do a lot of color coding.

Megan,

I feel your pain! Take a breath, it will get easier.

We switched classes last year, too. I had one scoreboard on my whiteboard divided up into three different parts that represented the parts of my day. Each group would work for their own reward. It was a bit confusing at first, but once I got a system in place, one that worked for me, it got better.
