Alright, in case anyone is interested, here is the answer to my own question:

Doesn't it drive you crazy when you are teaching a lab and even though the directions are on a lab sheet, or on the board, or somewhere close to your students' eyes, they still ask you questions they should already know or can find for themselves?

WELLLLLLL, use the mirror and teach-okay to go over and explain steps. They are more likely to answer their own questions or even remember lab steps!

Do you have constant lab roles, such as materials manager, recorder, reporter, facilitator? Use gestures, mirror, and teach-okay to teach these lab roles and to review them.

This does not nescessarily pertain to only the science lab, but to anything science, or educational, in nature! Give every science vocabulary a gesture! Better yet, let your students think of the gestures, you will get more buy-in and more all-around-fun! Plus, let them do the thinking!

Would you like a 5th Grade Science Vocabulary Super Speed game? One to prepare them for that Science TAKS TEST all you TEXANS!!! HUH????? Beg me and I'll post one here! Okay....you don't have to beg, but if no one reads this post, I ain't doin' it!

Yes, yes! Please, I'm begging you, post a 5th Grade Science Vocabulary Super Speed game here.

I've been using gestures with my students to remember the circulatory system, the digestive system, the xylem and phloem in plants, and many other 5th grade science concepts. Things we learned back in September and October, they can still remember quite well in March. Yahoo for WBT!
