The Florida Whole Brain Teaching Conference was spectacular! Thanks so much to Wellington Christian School for hosting the conference. Special thanks to Chris Rekstad for the engaging, entertaining, energizing presentation. OH, YEAH!

Last summer, my friend Jill sent me an email and suggested that I check out what this Power Teaching was all about. I was immediately intrigued by the classroom management piece and excitedly embraced the Whole Brain Teaching concepts last school year. I was revitalized and had so much fun with my 5th grade students. They LOVED it and management was a piece of cake!

I am so grateful that the conference was available here in Florida. School begins in less than two weeks and I am ready to powerfully engage my new students! Whole Brain Teaching is a blessing and I am truly thankful!

Loved it!!!!
Thanks to Wellington Christian for their hospitality and Chris for an AWESOME day!! As much as I'd like to host a presentation in our area, I really loved the ride home (thanks, Julie)! I value times for reflection and discussion. Our 90 minute ride home was a perfect opportunity. With the 4 of us talking away of how much we loved the presentation and how we would use each other for support in our plans for implementation (4 different grades-2 different schools) was a great way to lead into a new year.
Thanks again!

Thank you soooo much for coming to Florida!!! I stumbled upon whole brain teaching back in late spring and quickly learned as much as I could about it. I watched all of the videos and subscribed to the site. The presentation by Rekstad really helped to fill in the gaps. I am so excited to start the new year off with a new plan that just makes sense! I can't wait to see how this changes my teaching and the strides that my students make this year.

Oh, and thank you so much to Wellington Christian for hosting and organizing this event!

The workshop yesterday was awesome! Thank you Wellington Christian for a wonderful job hosting the workshop. My teaching friend and I left Orlando at 5:00 in the morning to participate and learn more about this innovative way to teach children. It was worth every effort and Chris was amazing! We have been using some of the strategies and now we are truly armed and dangerous! We can't wait to share with our team and the other teachers at our school. Thanks WBT for all you do for teachers and students!

Wellington Christian was a fabulous host. All of the folks were extremely kind and helpful from the inception of this conference. Thanks to all of you who participated and made this the kickoff to a great year.

Will there be another conference anytime soon in Florida? I just learned about this over the past two days and did not know there was a conference. I would love to get something set up for a conference to take place somewhere close to Marion County - how do I go about doing this?

The best way rigth now to get something brewing is to keep in contact with this FL forum. Keep putting up posts and people will answer. If you get enough people excited then you contact WBT's Chris Biffle and he'll set it up.

Also, keep reading, watching video's and trying out this great WBT movement.

WBT is creeping through our faculty ! I was delightfully surpised to see wbt rule charts up in a collegue's room while setting up for school to begin next week. Last year it was 2 of us, then 4 of us went to the FL conf (all were invited by email), we eached shared with our grade level and then a "what's that?" at the copy machine brought in another grade level!!!
There's another note of excitement, but it's after my bad news: my grade level (kdg) wing has had no A/C (yuck,it's been 2 1/2 weeks!) and it won't be fixed until next week (real yuck, it's HOT in Florida) so we are going to hold class in the multi-purpose room. While planning and sharing tasks, they said "And you can teach the rules, so we can learn too" Wahoo- who would imagine no AC would lead to WBT movement Thanks again! Looking forward to next week. jh
