I have used it in the past two years. However, I have not been very consistent. I have moved to a new school this year and I am a bit apprehensive about doing it again. I know it can work though. It helps a lot with vocabulary retention, and helping to keep kids engaged. I want to try it with my physical science classes. I have used it with biology and chemistry. I am not sure why I have such apprehensions, but I do. It's not the method though. I love the method, even though I feel that it requires more energy. (I'm not sure if that is normal though) I think I just do not want to draw attention to myself or have a class rebel against me. Have you started or are you just thinking about it? I would love to be able to bounce ideas off of other people too.

Science Teachers Unite---

You two need to try a little at a time. Don't worry about bringing attention to yourself...that's going to happen soon enough with all of the great results. Good attention is what you want.

Your best bet is starting by reviewing the "First Steps" at the top of this page.

In Science especially the Teach-Okay will be powerful. Kids will remember so much more. Try it...you won't be sorry.

Hey Scott! I taught science 11 years in Palm Beach County. I am now in Colorado but find that WBT strategies are excellent with science. The use of gestures is especially powerful. I have been trained in conducting workshops and usually visit the old stomping grounds in Florida 2 or 3 times a year. Let me know if there is anything I do to help!
