I know that this is a bit far from the more erudite aspects of the forum, but I thought that it's useful information.
For those who would like to make large classroom rule posters, here's how;
Download Poster Forge, a freeware poster making (PC only unfortunately) program from,
www.ronyasoft.com/products/poster-forge/download.html
This will automatically divide an image across more than one sheet of paper to produce large posters.
1. Download the "Challenging_Students_Signs.pdf" from this website,
2. Use Adobe Reader to open it,
3. Scroll down until you see the image of a poster you might want to use,
4. Left-click on the image to select it (you'll see it darken a bit), right click on the image, choose the "Copy Image" menu item,
5. Open your favorite graphics program, (I use GIMP - it's a free, open-source version of photoshop). Open a new 8 1/2 x 11 image,
6. Paste the image you copied in step 4 onto your blank image,
7. Use the cropping tool to reduce the image to the outlines of the poster,
8. Save the image as a .jpg file,
9. Open Poster Forge, open your saved image into Poster Forge,
10. Follow the steps required within that program to print a poster. It's pretty self-directing.
It works great!!
Cheers,
