I went to a conference last week by John Hollingsworth of DataWORKS. He is the TAPPLE guy and he was speaking on Explicit Direct Instruction. I was there with a colleague who also used WBT techniques, and as we listened to the presentation, everything he said validated and reinforced the importance of WBT. Particularly using gestures and Teach-okay. We kept looking at each other saying "WBT meets that need!" It didn't surprise me, it just excited me about WBT. Just wanted to share!

I agree 100%...our district is into that type of instruction and it seems that what we are doing in WBT is of course much better. People everywhere are feeling the need to get kids engaged and interactive with their learning. We've been doing this for years.

Power to the Teacher!
