At my 3rd -5th campus, our teachers (about 50 spread over 3 different grade levels in 3 different hallways), vote for the Teacher of the Six Weeks. Yesterday, I was selected by my peers for this honor!

I want to thank you all on this board, and specifically Chris Biffle and Chris Rekstad! I attended the WBT National Convention in Louisiana and spent 3 days with Mr. Rekstad and Mr. Biffle...learning WBT from the guys who have been building their Big Back Pocket since the inception of this program. On my blog last week, I reflected on a great beginning to the school year. I see my kids every day and they are doing good both academically and behaviorally...but the fact that my peers notice how well behaved they are in the hallway, at the restroom, in the cafeteria, etc...really made me proud. My students loved the fact that their teacher got a trophy...but they really loved it that I told them that I wouldn't have a trophy if it wasn't for them and what they are doing! I really can't take credit for anything...the WBT program is the reason that I am successful. It is the reason that we are successful as a group!

The coolest thing is that several teachers on my campus have picked up on this. I've directed them to this website and the videos and ebooks. Yesterday for our first awards assembly...my principal stepped up to the microphone to address the group with an enthusiatic, "Classity Class Class!", and the entire 4th grade group (250 kids) cheerfully replied, "Yessity Yes Yes!"!!! It was a proud moment!

If you have dipped your toes in the water with WBT...Dive In Head First as fast as you can! It truly will lead you to "Teacher Heaven"!!!
