Since Friday, the world of Whole Brain Teachers has grown a little bigger! While on a field trip to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA, our kids attended a short class about landforms and erosion. It involved pouring water into a tub filled with sand. (You can picture it now can't you?? Lots of digging going on.) It became apparent very quickly the kids were more into the sand than the presenter so we introduced the "teacher" to Class-Yes. He was kind of amazed at how quickly the kids responded. Then we showed him Hands and Eyes and to top it off, we left the WBT website info on our evaluation form. Even the parents were smiling when we left. Oh yeah!
Fast forward - it's Monday and time for the monthly faculty meeting. Our principal loves what he as seen of WBT so much he let my teammate and me present his meeting agenda whole brain style! Our staff loved it. Usually, by the end of the agenda, people are running for the door. Today they actually stayed and asked us questions about the nitty gritty of WBT once we were done. It was an incredible feeling to have such a positive reaction from our staff.
Hmmm.... what will our next adventure be for spreading the word? Stay tuned 'cause I will bet that's not all folks!
