I am completely blank on the parts of the brain Unfortunately, I cannot access youtube on my work computer but was hoping someone could provide a different link to show parts of the brain?

My 1st graders are eating this WBT thing up this year! MUCH better than last year due to, what I think, are LOTS of variables.

Hi there!

The parts of the brain are as follows:

Pre-Frontal Cortex
Motor Cortex
Visual Cortex
Broca's Area
Wernicke's Area
Limbic System

I hope this helps!

Here is a little more from Deb's video:

Pre-Frontal Cortex - the boss of my brain
Motor Cortex - controls movement
Visual Cortex - controls sight - the biggest part of my brain
Crack open your brain - ewwww!!!
Limbic System - it controls emotion
Put your brain back together
Broca's Area - Listening
Wernicke's Area - Speaking

LeAnn,
Just a quick correction on the parts on the brain-
Broca's area controls speaking. I teach the kids to associate "Broca" with "breath". When we speak, we use our breath, and that is how I help them remember Broca's area.
Wernicke's is for listening. You had them switched around.

And a great physical way to teach it is by folding your fingers together like the beginning of the "Here is the church, here is the steeple" rhyme.

Pinkies are pre-frontal cortex, use your right middle and ring fingers to press on the back of your left hand for Broca's and Wernicke's, all your knuckles are motor cortex, open your hands to crack open your brain to see the limbic system, thumbs are visual cortex.
