Hello everyone!
How about a discussion about how we can assess in a differentiated way at the end of a WBT lesson?
Here are some pulled from the WBT Lesson Delivery manual thingie, in the terms I use with my class.
Dear Planet X (Zork) (literary intelligence): Write an email to aliens explaining to them the concept we just learned.
Cartoon Animation Explanation (kinesthetic and audio intelligences): Turn to your partner and with full expressions and gestures, use all the WBT tools to explain the concept.
Genius Ladder (literary intelligence): Write all the types of sentences in the Genius Ladder about the concept.
And some of mine:
IKEA Instructions (visual intelligence): I bring in a set of instructions for IKEA furniture. We discuss how with no language it is still extremely easy to follow. I offer this as way for students with poor language skills (like Kindergarten reading/writing in a middle school math class) to do an explanation.
Write a Problem (literary intelligence): Write a problem that could be on the state test at the end of the year. Solve it.
Create-a-Gesture (Kinesthetic/visual intelligences): Make your own gesture for the concept, teach it to the teacher and at least one other student along with your explanation of the concept.
What are some of yours? I'd love to add to my menu.
