One of the writing genres my students have to learn in 2nd grade is the personal narrative. Here are the gestures we came up with to remember what it is.

A personal narrative is:

a true story,---raise your right hand as though you are being sworn in to testify

you have to use the word "I"---point to yourself with your index finger

and it must be memorable---point to your brain

because it gave you a big feeling--put both hands over your heart
