Can anyone help me with ideas or what they do for gestures for Fact and Opinion.

This is for 5/6 ELA class

We play a game called "That's a Fact, Jack!".
I have a list of statements ready.
If it is a fact, the students respond, "Clap, Clap, That's a fact, Jack!" (Clap, and point finger)
If it is an opinion, the students respond, "Clink, clink, That's what you think!" (Snap fingers on clink, clink, then rub chin)
I also give them another option..."Oh, no! I don't know, Joe!" (Hold hands out to sides, palms up)
The students really love this!

Hi,
I teach 4th grade. What I do is I "mirror with words" and I take my fist and beat it on the palm of my hand and say "a fact can be proven". For an opinion, I do the same except for a gesture I say "personal thoughts- and I point to my brain and then I say "or personal feelings" and I hug myself". This works for us and I hope you can find it useful. After we "mirror with words then we teach-okay"

I don't teach writing, but my team-teacher does. I have access to several chants and songs for the traits of writing. They are on a folder at school. When I go back to school over the holiday,I will post it for you. They use it and LOVE it. It may be something that can help you.

I know for sentence writing we use this:

A sentence sentence sentence is complete complete complete when 5 simple rules it meets meets meets
It has a capital letter letter and an end mark mark and now we have a sentence and arn't we smart. (something like that) Ha! We use LOTS of jingles to teach! I will post ASAP when I go back to school.
