As I'm reading some of the gestures people have already posted, it occurs to me that it would be a shame if some gems got posted and then a month later were buried under a bunch of other stuff, never to be seen again. What about having a sticky thread (a message that always appears at the top of the forum, for those that don't know) that can list some of the best gestures in an organized way. Users could petition moderators for gestures they particularly liked to be added. This could in the future be made into a permanent feature of the site, perhaps organized by subject, grade level, etc.

Great idea! I'm working on that right now. Give me a few minutes, and then you should see it. I'm going to experiment with it, because I've never done 'sticky threads', so feel free to give me suggestions. For now, I'll make 5 different 'sticky threads'... math, science, language arts, social studies, and other. Do you think 5 is too many? I'm just thinking it would be better to organize it like that...
I'd love feedback...here goes! -- Jackie

You should probably also lock the stickies, as they shouldn't be a place for conversation, but rather a place where moderators compile concise descriptions of gestures. Just my two cents.

Thanks, that helps. I've been trying to decide whether or not to lock them.
