I have been presenting to other teachers for a year or so on classroom management, using many of the principles of Dr. Haim Ginott because those work for me. One of my attendees told me about this method, and I am very interested and considering adding it to my teaching "bag". I see that there was a conference near me recently. I'm sorry I missed that. I believe in using what works and has some scientific evidence to back it up. This seems to have those components.

It's good to see another specials teacher on here. I started using some components of WBT (it takes some practice to not say PowerTeaching, which is what I'm used to calling it!) last year. It has since spread to several other classes as teachers see how well it works, esp. the class/yes.

You should email Chris Biffle about holding a conference in your area along with your district. I spoke to him when he came to Lakeworth, Texas. He was very open to coming to my city (Austin) which is also in Texas, but still 3 hours away from the conference location. Anyhow, when I was there an elementary music teacher demonstrated an awesome lesson on whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes using WBT. I'm a third grade teacher, not a music teacher. But nevertheless the lesson was something that I wished my music teacher would have done with me when I was in elementary school.
