Hello from Northern Michigan!
I am 2 months into Power Teaching after searching the internet for ideas in classroom management. I teach 5th and 6th grade at a small charter school and Power Teaching has helped me in so many ways. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I would like to put a call out to all other Michigan Power Teachers. Lets start talking. It would be nice to know I'm not alone up here. Even if it is just an electronic sholder to cry on.

Well, in the wide world of the internet you're definitely not alone! I'm a month in myself (exactly actually after today). I work in a small charter school too (only 7 teachers right now). What is yours like? Mine has technically adopted Power Teaching school-wide, but some teachers have grabbed onto it more than others...

Welcome to the wonderful world of PT. Although I'm not from Michigan I'd be happy to assist you any questions you have regarding PT. I also teach sixth grade and would be very familiar with the beast that is pre-teen. We'll be holding an East Coast PT Training this summer in Pennsylvania near Hershey. I know this might be a bit of a drive for you but it may help solidify your PT methods. Watch for it on the calendar. Have a great weekend, and enjoy watching PT spread through your school!

It's nice to here I'm not alone. We have 10 teachers and 100 students K-12. My self and one other teacher are useing PT right now. However, the higher ups are taking notice and we might go school wide next year. You know how teachers are though, if you force them to try somthing they fight it. Slowly they are seeing the positive effects from our classrooms. Thanks for replying.

I agree. Even something as great as PT would not work if you forced it on teachers I think. I was thinking for a little bit that an all-PT charter school would be cool, combining two great educational ideas, but I think you're right that teachers have to choose to do it on their own, and usually just seeing the results is enough to convince someone.
