I brought a cup of coffee into a WBT training yesterday and found myself a little frustrated that I NEVER had the opportunity to take a sip. I was fully engaged throughout the day, even after lunch, in spite of my wanting to check out periodically from fatigue. A teaching approach that can keep me away from a cup of coffee and keep me engaged after lunch ON THE SAME DAY is pretty powerful. I couldn't help but buy into WBT after that.

I decided that I would fully implement the Big Seven Daily Instruction Techniques today. It was very tiring for me because I had to think about every move I made. On the other hand, students were engaged. Chris Biffle's words, "Don't scold, rehearse," set the tone for my day, helping me remember to redirect whenever some of my more challenging students started with their tapping, poking, and disruptive noises. Reviewing a rule, using the scoreboard, or continuing on with class/yes...mirror (speak briefly)...teach/okay put a pretty quick stop to undesirable behavior and pulled the students back into my instruction. Brief reminders from me to use gestures as students taught one another helped keep the class humming along as well.

Altogether, the day felt very good.

Good for you! I have also implemente the entire program (I had been using parts of it the month before Xmas vacation.) The workshop helped me understand the Teach-ok lesson format.

Hi,, you have to rush using the magical weapon (Hands and eyes) but you need to start it perfectly ,, I suggest you say to your class that I will say now something you didn't hear before,, when you hear me saying that you should do two things at a time,, first, you have to leave everything in your hands and fold them together, then only look at me,, eyes on me,, I will say it now,, pay attension,, listen carefully and do,,, then you say it,,( Hands and eyes) you guide them to be very very quiet,, and looking at you, while folding their hands,,
Hope this will work,,
thanks
