I just found all of the wonderfulness today as I was browsing teaching blogs. What should be my first step? I am on a two week fall break and want to learn as much as I can so I'm able to implement it as soon as we get back. HHHEEELLLPPP!

jessica1,

Welcome to WBT! You're taking an awesome first step by reading through the forum posts. The next thing I'd do is read through the "1st Steps" tab on the top of the WBT website. I'd also watch any and all of the YouTube videos you can. It's amazing to see WBT in action.

As you return to your classroom and start using WBT with your students, don't be afraid to make things work for you and your students!

Let us know how it goes.

Welcome, you started in the right place. First go to the top of this page and go to first steps. Second go to you tube and watch whole brain videos then print the e books at least the teaching challemging kids. Go back to first steps do it again. Start with the big 7 do those until you feel you have a handle on things. Ask questions here, thats what we are all here for.

Glad you are here! These ladies have given you some great advice for your fist steps! After you go through all of that, post any questions you have and we will be glad to help.
Also, check out my blog to see lesson plan options that have been posted on here by Jeff Battle and Deb.

Enjoy your break!

Jessica,

These ladies have all given you great advise. The only thing I would add to that is to download from the free "ebooks" tab the book "Teaching the Challenging Elementary Student" (there is a book for older students too). It has a lot of things spelled out for you, and it is easy to refer to during the day. There are a lot of great resources under the free "ebooks" tab, all of which will be beneficial to you as you progress in WBT. Best of luck to you, and keep us posted on your successes.
