So, I have this class that I have had TROUBLE with. I have always left feeling exhausted and angry. I can't get them to sit down and be quiet much less teach them. I thought that I had tried everything. I had tried positive reinforcements, negative reinforcements, group activities, ticket mart, EVERYTHING!!! I wanted to quit. I really did because I thought I was a bad teacher. A teacher at our school turned me on to WBT and I tried it today. IT WAS A LIFE SAVER!!!! I haven't ironed out all the kinks yet and there are still some kids who haven't "bought in" yet but I left the class feeling energized and wanting to tweek my lesson plans to incorporate more WBT strategies. Thanks!!!!

I feel your pain!! That pain led me to WBT last school year! You'll make it through, I promise, and probably even have some wonderful learning moments happen along the way! There is hope! I hope you never have another year where you feel like a bad teacher, but if you find success this year, you'll know you can teach anyone!!! Setbacks can lead to success, and the fact that you are using WBT means you're on the right road!

You know what I love about the Scoreboard? I don't have to keep up with a prize box! I've tried lots of different methods of rewards, but WBT is the only thing I can stay consistent with (probably b/c it's free!!!). It also teaches kids more intrinsic motivation....I've used Mind Soccer as a reward and it's more effective than two minutes of free talk.

Best wishes! Keep posting!
