I downloaded the Biffytoons and love them! I was also wondering if there is a download available for the alphabet cards seen in Andrea's video ("Pippa Pig" etc.)

Thanks,
Catherine

I believe that Jay Vanderfin has a set of Alphabet cards that are named Vanderphonics cards. You may wish to contact him about those cards. He has them posted on his website and I have downloaded and used them this year. My students love them and the gestures and letter sounds have been very easy for them to learn.

These are different from the ones shown in Andrea's video, though...but a great resource all the same:P

I think the Pippa Pig from Andrea's video is an Alphafriend from the Houghton-Mifflin reading series. We use H-M at my school and have the Alphafriends. I don't know if you can download them anywhere, though.

Hi there!
yes, these are the Alphafriends from Houghton Mifflin. Even better than Alphafriends is Zoophonics (which sadly, we are not allowed to use because we are required to use HM)

However, if you don't have the benefits of having either, check out the Santa Maria Bonita website (just google that name) They have TONZ! of resources and even have the Alphafriends available to download.

I do have a version of available. The gestures are to be done with one hand, so the student can still hold the book and gesture at the same time if needed. Let me know if you're This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

YAY! That rocks! And if you need a list of the motions that I use I have them typed up for when I have a guest teacher. You may have made your own up already, but if not, let me know:)

I looked up Santa Maria Bonita on Google and found a lot of things I could use since we use the Alphafriends in my district. I would like a copy of the actions that go with them you use for your sub. Would that be possible?

I teach with the H-M series and I would LOVE your list of motions that go with the Alphafriends if you still have them. Thank you!!!!!

The handmotions that I created are for HM, though.

So, change of plans, I found a ton of resources for Zoophonics in my closet today (teacher's manual, etc.), but, in a fun twist, NO ANIMAL CARDS. Is there any digital version of these that anyone has found? I think these would be better for my kids but I only have the teeny tiny versions of them in the manual. I could try to recreate them but I'd rather not invent the wheel / my art skills are not that amazing

I was just switched to kinder and got a Zoophonics kit. I plan on scanning the large cards this week to have them digitally. I can try to email them once I scan them

Hey, scrapbunny I was there last year and keeping my fingers crossed I won't be this year anyway I give you my help and sorry I heard it from other teachers and never believed it but kinder are different little critters fun but challenging in the first 1/2 of the year.

Stay happy:laugh: Annette

LOVE your video on youtube. I was hoping I could get a list of the gestures that you do with the Alphafriends? I'd love to use it with my kids (k/1 combo). My email is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
