Well hello WBT colleagues!!!!!

I am back in beautiful flat Lubbock, Texas but believe me it never looked so good! The conference this weekend was AWESOME and a great big TEN FINGER WOOOOO WITH A GRAND SALAMI to The Lil Rocket and the crew!!!!

You know I can never get enough of the conferences because even if you think you have it down like a PRO and have watched all the videos and there is just really nothing else you can learn from the conferences....WELL THINK AGAIN!!! It is a great refreshing tool to keep you on track.

Went back to school this morning energized and ready to tackle the next phase of Kindergarten. Changed our scoreboard a bit and the kids love it...NO MORE WHINING!!!! Those at the conference will understand that one!!!

ALSO....implemented my student leaders today...I have two per day...just like the conference...and it was so amazing to see the kids glow at the thought of them getting to call the class back to attention after an activity or a teach/okay...and the student that did the teach/okay was SOOOOO CREATIVE!!!! It was amazing!!! They got to wear the PINK TEACHER Rule #5 button all day and just thought they were so special! Of course for the first day I chose two of my top students to "model" what a great leader was but already I have even my more rebellious students asking when it will be their turn!!!

NOW...FOR THE EVEN MORE FUN PART...

So after the conference my colleague and I took the advice of Andrea and Angela and Chris R. for our trip into LA and Hollywood....OH MY GOODNESS did we have fun! So much that we went back the next morning before heading to the airport! It was a blast and everyone really was so nice and pleasant! We got lots of pictures of the stars and my kinders think I am like the coolest teacher ever because I have my picture with Shrek and Mickey Mouse!!!! (Wax Museum)

Thanks to everyone and it was amazing to finally meet Deb and Annette!!! Annette I am sorry we didn't get to talk more but hit me up on here!!! And thank you to everyone for participating during my presentation this weekend...if you have any questions let me know!

Thanks guys,

Farrah~
I totally agree! The more conferences you attend the more "a~ha's" you will get! So true!
I am excited to hear how the leaders are working out in your classroom. DOn't be afraid to do other leaders~ we demonstrated the "Class~yes" and "Teach~okay" leader, but you can have rules leaders, lines leaders, papers leaders, hands and eyes leaders, etc. The possibilities are limitless! But remember it is a long year so changing it up keeps it fresh and new:)!

Nothing new with the whining~ just that a frownie point should be a mighty groan~ not a mighty whine (this is what we can get the kids sounds like if that is what we model to them) UNLESS~ you don't mind whining. In that case~ whine away!

Sorry For some reason I didn't get the email notice that I had a post to respond to!!! Andrea is right...nothing new with the NO WHINING....I just used to have my kids say "OH NO MRS SHIPLEY" with the frownies...but I got tired of the whiny tone they used...so NO MORE WHINING!!! WE just HUG OUR EARS!!!
