Hi! My name is Jennifer.
I am a second grade teaching in St. James, Missouri. I heard about PowerTeaching, now called Whole Brain Teaching, last year. I integrated the rules into my routine right away, and used SuperSpeed 100, but was sporadic with Class-Yes and couldn't bring myself to try any more.
However, today I attended a conference with Chris Bifle himself! I am SO in!
I am rearranging my day and schedule and classroom set up now, before school starts, to tie in all the great stuff I learned today.

I hope to be a regular on here, and look forward to networking with other teachers around the state!

Jennifer

Hello! My name is Leslie and I’m a fourth grade teacher. Today I attended WBT training in Missouri. This was new territory for me but I enjoyed it. I’m excited to implement the techniques in my classroom.

Great! Did you go home with a total brain fog like I did? Was an intense day for me, but I know my students will benefit!

Well, I was there, too -- What a day! I *discovered* Power Teaching a few months ago and started class/yes, which my kids loved. I'm so ready to teach my new kids the rules [especially rule 2] and try out more of these techniques!

I am a 2nd grade teacher at St. James, MO. I was first introduced to WBT last year. I totally buy into WBT. I believe keeping students engaged and active in their own learning keeps students on task as well as building their own self image.
I attended the WBT conference yesterday and now have more tools to use in my classroom.
I want to say THANK YOU to the WBT team and for your mission in educating teachers to be better instructors. I will be using your site to ask questions and to work with other educators from around the world as I improve my own instruction habits and build a much better learning community for my students. How exciting! Once again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Ruth

Hola,
My name is Andy. I am a kindergarten teacher in Missouri. I was fortunate to attend Chris Biffle's conference in St. James yesterday. What's even cooler though is that the other kindergarten teacher, all of our 1st grade teachers, and a second grade teacher also attended, not to mention other teachers and an administrator from our district. I am excited that we are going to be able to encourage each other to keep moving forward with NO WHINING! I'm thinking these kids are worth it. How about you?

This year I am switching grades. I will be teaching second grade in Rolla. I am very excited to implement the things I learned from the St. James workshop. I'm also interested to hear how things go for you since we will both be teaching the same grade level.

Hi everyone,
I want to re-introduce myself I teach first grade and have going on seven years in Tulsa, OK. Unfornately, I didn't have the opportunity of attending the conference in St. James. If you want to share anything that you learned please don't hesitate. I used Power Teach for the first time last year. I am so impressed I will use it again this year. This is the ultimate way of teaching. I searched the internet and stubbled on to Bill's sight. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me in the twelve years I've been teaching. I share with all teachers at every seminar that I attend. Some are excited about it and asure me that they will check it out. Then you run into others that refuse to check it out. I wish there was a gas to blow into their face that would wake them up. I throughly enjoy this sight and the commonality we share.
Thanks again Bill, you made me a better teacher.

Hi everyone! I am a 3rd grade teacher in the St. James School District. I was so excited to be able to attend the WBT conference we had at St. James. I support the WBT movement and I think every educator in the United States needs this information because it makes such a difference in the classroom. I was introduced to WBT last year and I just love using it! Have a good rest of the summer!

WooHoo! Glad to "meet" all of you!

Have been thinking long and hard about this "stuff". I love that they changed the name to Whole Brain Teaching. It really describes the method.

Let's all keep in touch and share any bright ideas we have throughout the year!

I have just joined, and I am excited about learning. This-coming year we third grade teachers were told to expect 30-38 students in our classes since we "disbanded" the 20-1 ratio. I will have an aide for a little less than two hours of the day. Thanks for having me.

I just noticed the subject line included "in Missouri." I hope I didn't reply to the wrong post. I am not from Missouri, but I am from California!

Don't worry about where you are from. We all need to stand together and help each other!

30+ kids?!?!?! yikes, kind of glad I'm not in CA now. My hubby is from CA and we debated moving out there a few years ago. We go to visit every couple of years, but I'm not sure I could have a class that big.

I hope the WBT helps all you brave souls be more effective with your students!

Jennifer, thanks for your welcome and kind reply reagarding my boo-boo. I am a little, okay, maybe a lot, apprehensive about the new school year. I will be going into my classroom next week to take down two bookshelves so I can get the extra desks in. I am definitely not looking forward to it. Now I have to find a place to store all the books!

I am a first grade teacher in St. James and I attended the whole brain workshop as well! It was amazing and I can't wait to incorporate more into my classroom next year. I started using it some last school year, but now I am excited to use it "full force". Thanks again Chris!!!

Re:Introducing myself, please introduce yourself 2 years, 10 months ago #1525

I am an 8th grade math teacher in Texas. I have not been to a seminar, however I have reviewed the videos and materials online. I have been searching for a classroom management style that would allow me to have constant engagement and interaction with my students as I teach my math lesson. I am so excited about trying this approach in my class.

Re:Introducing myself, please introduce yourself 2 years, 10 months ago #1544

Hi Jennifer...

I also teach 2nd grade. I watched a few videos last year and attended a workshop today. I'm sold, although a little unsure where to start. What are you planning to change in regards to your schedule for next year? What other changes are you considering?
