This year instead of "teacher vs student" I introduced the Scoreboard as the Versus Scoreboard. I explained that all year long the scoreboard will help up track where we are on track with behavior, and when he are off track.

I started with Hits (points for them) vs. Misses (points for me)

We have started changing it up to keep it fresh, and the kids are excited about coming up with new names for the Versus as well. With this I can avoid habituation in a small way quickly and easily. Here are what we have come up with so far:

Points for them / Points for me

Hits/ Misses

Touchdowns/ Fumbles

On/ Off

Ninja/ Pirate Captain

Superheroes/ Villains

Cowboys/ Aliens

Monsters/ Alians

And those are just the ones we are starting with!

Thanks Jeff for sharing your change ups. I already have variations for the holidays with the scoreboard, but I think I am going to use you touchdown/fumbles in a couple weeks. I want to change it up frequently to keep the energy alive.
