Here's an idea I'll be implementing in 2nd quarter:

I'm trying to create a more differentiated homework model for myself, so I'm thinking that now that the students are pretty familiar with Power Pix, but I'm getting really behind in making them, I'm going to start offering an option for homework of making your own Power Pic, including coming up with your own gesture and drawing your own picture.

So, options might be: Do 10 practice math problems, OR do 2 practice math problems and make a Power Pic for the standard.

Suggestions? Comments? We go on break tomorrow and come back October 31st so I have some time to refine this.

I think that would be a great idea. I have tried to work on some PP and they are pretty tough. Just wondering if they would be missing out a little on the repetition of practicing the problems? I am totally going to try this for my SS class!

They might miss out a bit, but I think the creative act of coming up with all their own content for a Power Pic might make up for that in terms of locking the information in, as long as the content of the Power Pic is accurate. Thinking of it, that's probably the biggest limitation, if they get the info on the PP wrong.
