I enjoyed the webinar on Friday, May 7th on using the score board and practice cards. In the past I have tried many behavior management strategies, such as star board, marbles, and points earned and have never been fully satisfied. I am excited to start next year off using the practice cards. I like the idea and have faith that it will work. It seems every time we try a Whole Brain teaching strategy in our class it works better than we imagined. I watched this webinar while I was visiting family in NC. My sister is a first year, 1st grade teacher and sat in on the webinar. She thought it was so cool and is very interested in using this style of teaching. I guarantee she will be hooked! Thank you so much for all the interesting and fun ideas. Any teachers in VA reading this, be watching for the webinars to sign up for, they are very helpful, interesting, and easy to implement the next day!

I have a question about the scoreboard. We are using teacher vs. student and for every point the students get they get to draw a card from a pile they came up with. When we get more, we just get more teaching time. We try for the students to end with more points than the teachers but there are times when we end with one or two more points at the end of the day. If the teacher ends up with more points, should we take that as our extra teaching time & erase them and the end of the day or should the teacher points be carried over to the next day?
Thank you
